I'm an archival cataloguer at an arts institution by day and nearly non-stop crafter/creator every other waking moment. I spin my own yarn, weave, dye, embroider, knit, crochet, make jewelry, sew, make cards, bake, make pots, belly dance, play piano, and garden. And love my kid and husband who are also artists.

Fabric printing

Just did some printing for the Shire event in a few weeks. I used craft foam cut into the shape I needed (crossed millrinds) and glued it to a wooden block.  I used Tulip Slick in leaf green. I'm going to have to go over some as I didn't always use enough paint. Don't know how much I like printing on fabric. This didn't make me want to do more.

Last night was the first class of our second session of pottery. My daughter and I took a pottery class in the winter and had so much fun we signed up for it again. The first session we took over the winter was loads of fun and I made a bunch of lumpy pots and just got used to manipulating clay and exploring some of the things it would do. I mostly worked with pinch and slab pots though I tried my hand at wheel throwing as well. I really enjoy making slab pots. This session I want to make more stuff, hone my skills some more and maybe make a few more arty pieces. I looked through a book of bowls the other evening and got some interesting id
